A man who broke into a Memphis home early Tuesday morning was confronted by an armed homeowner who was prepared to defend his property.
Memphis Police responded to a shots-fired call at a residence on Eldridge Avenue in North Memphis around 1 a.m. Tuesday.
“This is my home. I mean, I should be able to enjoy it without people comin’ through the window on me,” the homeowner told police.
Officers arrived to find the homeowner had caught an intruder breaking into the house and was holding him at gunpoint.
Police reported that the suspect was lying face-down in the bedroom. A video report showed the homeowner fired two shots.
When officers took control, they directed the homeowner to drop the firearm. They later checked Simeon Pratcher, 33, and found him unharmed.
