The White House announced the launch of a new website powered by artificial intelligence that streamlines access to services offered by federal government agencies. The platform, named “America.gov,” features an AI chatbot designed to direct users to resources across hundreds of government departments.
President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Friday directing all federal agencies to integrate their services with the platform.
“We’re simplifying it. We’re glamorizing it. We’re making it what it should be,” the president said during a meeting with tech executives, adding that “With America.gov, the federal government no longer stands in your way; it only stands at your service.”
The website includes features such as quick access to National Parks information and the ability to update personal records—processes that were previously time-consuming and complex. U.S. Chief Design Officer Joe Gebbia, who co-founded Airbnb before joining the Trump administration, described America.gov as “the first place where Americans can get everything done across the entire government.”
Gebbia noted that the platform is trained on a single official source of truth: the United States government. He praised the collaboration with 29,000 websites and 800 million pages of information to create an integrated resource.
The site is now live, though some agencies are still working to connect their databases for full access. Testing has demonstrated that the platform quickly and accurately provides answers to common queries about Freedom of Information Act requests and the availability of government officials’ email addresses for media inquiries.
Trump stated: “We’ve become used to a government so big it makes citizens feel very, very small. But with America.gov, the entire U.S. government will fit in the plan.”
