Jelly Roll’s Tears Flood as Craig Morgan Invites Him to Grand Ole Opry

Country music star Jelly Roll broke down in tears Wednesday during a special segment on Joe Rogan’s podcast after being officially invited by country singer Craig Morgan to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry.

Rogan shared a recorded video message from Morgan, who extended the invitation directly to Jelly Roll. In response, the artist removed his headphones and placed his head in his hands as he wept. He then asked Rogan for a hug, and the two men shared an emotional moment before Rogan praised Jelly Roll’s journey.

Jelly Roll revealed that he had been deeply moved by Morgan’s song “Almost Home” during a previous Opry performance, saying it reminded him of homelessness and incarceration. “It’s the most tear-jerking song about a homeless man, and it just reminded me of jail,” he told Rogan. “I remember thinking … ‘I want to make people feel the way he makes me feel.’”

The singer shared that he once believed he would die young or take his own life but has since found redemption. “I didn’t even dream of it,” Jelly Roll said to Rogan, referring to his current status as an artist. “God will make things bigger than your dreams.”

He added that he had always dreamed of appearing on Rogan’s podcast and considered it an honor to call the host a friend.
