Police reported two incidents of aggravated battery on Chicago public transit last week.
The first incident occurred just after 9:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 600 block of South State Street aboard a train in the Chicago Loop neighborhood, where seven females and two males are accused of physically attacking one passenger.
In another separate incident, police said a 23-year-old female was attacked on the CTA Red Line platform at North Clark Street just after 4 p.m. Friday. According to police, one of the individuals pictured in the suspect photos pulled her to the ground by her hair, struck her face with a closed fist, and kicked her head and body.
Police also noted that another female accused in the first incident assisted the victim during the second incident by blocking bystanders from attempting to help.
Authorities have provided photos of the suspects and urged the public to be aware of their surroundings. Police cautioned citizens to “remain calm if confronted by an assailant/offender, never pursue, press the emergency button, alert a transit attendant, call 911, and provide detailed description of location and assailant.”
