Vice President JD Vance has addressed Republican voters, urging them not to overreact to recent Democratic successes in local and state elections. While some observers note Democrats’ gains, including New York City’s first openly socialist mayor and Virginia’s controversial law enforcement appointments, Vance emphasized the need for measured responses.
In a Wednesday post on X, Vance highlighted the importance of maintaining focus on key challenges, particularly voter enthusiasm. He pointed to historical difficulties in local election turnout, especially among Republicans, and stressed the necessity of mobilizing the base. “Our coalition is ‘low propensity,’ and we must do better at turning out voters than we have in the past,” he stated, acknowledging efforts by figures like Scott Pressler and TPUSA to register voters.
Affordability remained a central theme in recent campaigns, with Vance underscoring its significance for future elections. He noted that while the president has made progress on lower interest rates and inflation, “we inherited a disaster from Joe Biden,” advocating for continued emphasis on making life affordable.
Vance also criticized internal divisions within the MAGA movement, urging unity. “The infighting is so stupid,” he said, calling for collective focus on issues like immigration, sovereignty, and peace to prioritize domestic resources. “If you care about these things too, let’s work together.”
