York Revolution Cancels Game After Players Reject Pride Night Jerseys

The York Revolution, a minor league baseball team in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball — an official MLB partner league — has abruptly canceled its scheduled Pride Night game after players refused to wear rainbow-themed jerseys.

The franchise had planned for Thursday’s event at WellSpan Park in Pennsylvania, which would have included players wearing home uniforms with rainbow sleeves.

However, the players declined to participate in the uniform change, leading the York Revolution to issue an official statement on Monday: “It is with great disappointment and [sic] that the York Revolution have issued important changes to our 11th Annual Pride Night on Thursday, June 18th.”

The team subsequently canceled the game entirely and submitted a forfeit.
