A husband and wife were arrested for attacking a Florida mother who had disciplined her 4-year-old son in public, police said.
The mother reported that her child spat in her face and was misbehaving. In response, she struck him once on the mouth and on the side of his torso.
During the incident, the woman’s shirt was ripped off, leaving her wearing only a bra.
66-year-old Terry Williams allegedly intervened to tell the mother she could not hit her child, claiming he worked for the Florida Department of Children and Families. The woman said Williams left after she instructed him to leave her alone.
Later, his wife, 63-year-old Mary Thalia Williams, approached the woman “aggressively” to discuss child discipline. She reportedly positioned herself between the mother and her car, preventing her from leaving.
