An investigative report by Christopher Rufo reveals that California taxpayers are funding medical transition services for homeless transgender-identifying illegal aliens.
The investigation includes firsthand accounts from Honduran immigrants at St. Vincent De Paul’s MSC-South facility in San Francisco and Mexican immigrants at the Embarcadero SAFE Navigation Center.
“You have to have a process, the hormones … go through therapy. Es un proceso,” one transgender-identifying individual told Rufo.
Jacqueline, a Mexican immigrant who claims to be a lawful U.S. resident but is undocumented, stated: “Even though you’re undocumented, you can get them.” Rufo reported that a man received breast implants through the state Medi-Cal program and transgender hormone treatments. Jacqueline added she was waiting for “bottom surgery.”
At the Taimon Booton Navigation Center, another government-funded shelter, a group of transgender-identifying illegal aliens told Rufo they were seeking medical transition services. An employee at MSC-South confirmed Honduran immigrants were present at the facility, with two individuals verifying they received shelter and food from the government.
Officials at the centers declined to comment on the report. Rufo wrote: “Apparently, word has traveled down the continent to the transgender communities in Mexico, Honduras, and elsewhere: If you make it all the way to California, the government will pay for your shelter, hormones, and surgeries — no questions asked.”
