In a recent episode of his podcast “Club Random,” Bill Maher criticized Spencer Pratt for his emotional response to a burned-down house, urging the former “The Hills” star to stop crying about the incident.
During their discussion about Pratt’s bid for Los Angeles mayor, Maher also labeled him a “douchebag.” The two largely agreed on the excessive red tape and fiscal waste that cripples the city and state.
Pratt described his primary voter base as mothers concerned about children’s safety in the city and warned young voters against embracing socialism. “Socialism has captivated people,” he said. “I feel like people are all hyped on socialism because they’re like, ‘Everything’s so expensive. America’s failed. Give me money.’ But what they’re forgetting is all the people that these socialists are saying they’re taking the money and giving it — they’re gonna leave.”
Maher highlighted his own experience with bureaucratic hurdles, noting he required three inspections to change a garage door. He warned Pratt that if elected mayor, he would face intense pressure from powerful special interests demanding policies that could undermine his efforts.
Pratt countered that his leadership would allow wealthy residents to build businesses and restaurants without increasing taxes: “I can’t even comprehend taxing more.”
