The Democratic bid for one of Alaska’s U.S. Senate seats has grown increasingly precarious as candidate Mary Peltola faced a sudden loss of her campaign manager, Anton McParland, just days before the primary election.
Peltola’s team confirmed Sunday that McParland was no longer on staff, with multiple other staffers also reportedly departing. The campaign has not stated whether McParland resigned or was terminated.
Peltola’s campaign has been previously rumored to be confrontational toward her staff and appeared to reject an endorsement from former Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris.
