Over the weekend, ESPN witnessed a viral online incident that led to host Pat McAfee receiving death threats.
A post from X account @ShaneTuttleNCAA claimed Pat McAfee stated: “I only root for one team, and that team is TEAM USA.” The post also identified President Donald Trump as McAfee’s predicted winner of the upcoming College GameDay matchup between the University of Tennessee Volunteers and the Texas Longhorns.
The claim surfaced approximately an hour before kickoff, prompting McAfee to face online threats of violence.
