Former reality TV star Spencer Pratt is vigorously defending his eligibility to run for Los Angeles mayor after an entertainment gossip site raised doubts about his residency due to his home burning down in the January 2025 Pacific Palisades wildfires.
Pratt, who has been fighting claims he does not meet California’s residency requirements, stated: “I don’t need to sleep there every night. I don’t need to go number two on that toilet. That is where I live.”
The 42-year-old actor explained that California law allows victims of wildfires to remain on their burned properties while rebuilding. He has placed an Airstream trailer on the lot but also resides in Santa Barbara periodically.
On Wednesday, it was reported Pratt had rented a room at the Bel-Air hotel instead of living in his trailer, complicating his residency status for the mayoral campaign.
