TLC’s “90 Day Fiancé” universe has produced an unexpected phenomenon: a Turkish national who refuses to apologize for his alleged promiscuity and has become a comedy sensation.
Sarper Güven, described by the network as having slept with 2,500 women while recording encounters in a color-coded black book marked with “X” symbols denoting attractiveness, was positioned on the show as the epitome of a misogynist requiring reformation. Yet he refused to apologize.
“I never apologize because [it’s] who I am,” Güven told Blaze News. “But I know I make mistakes.”
Despite repeated attempts to improve his marriage through admissions of error, Güven has grown increasingly popular, selling out comedy shows across North America with seven sold-out performances in Toronto alone. His stand-up routine, which draws heavily from marital struggles, resonates particularly with men.
“Before marriage, even my sweat was sexy,” Güven said during a recent appearance. “She was smelling me all the time… We got married in two weeks: ‘Did you eat garlic today? Did you take a shower?’ What happened, girl?”
Güven, 45, has become a symbol of unapologetic honesty in an industry dominated by women. He compares men to “toasters” – simple, predictable machines – and women to smartphones that require constant updates.
“It’s not about me changing,” he said from Western Canada. “If you want to love me, that’s me. If you don’t want to love me, it’s up to you.”
