Atlanta Man Shot and Killed After Dispute Over Passing Gas

Police sought the suspect for weeks before receiving a tip from the public that led to his location.

According to court documents, a dispute over passing gas resulted in a deadly shooting in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Clayton County Police Department reported that officers responded to a report of shots fired on October 8 at approximately 10:30 p.m. at the 5000 block of Riverdale Road.

He allegedly shot at Beebe approximately ten times, striking him in the back and killing him.

After an investigation, police identified Seneca Colbert as the suspect in the lethal shooting.

Police had sought Colbert for weeks and warned that he was armed and dangerous.

On Friday, a tip led authorities to Colbert’s residence in Atlanta. When the 48-year-old refused to exit his home, the Atlanta Police SWAT team breached the property. He was found hiding behind a water heater.

Colbert has been charged with malice murder, felony murder, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
