A transgender-identifying former volunteer for Democratic socialist congressional candidate Katrina deVille in Wisconsin allegedly made numerous calls for violence against Republicans.
Teha Delaruelle, who identifies as a female, reportedly shared videos and messages on social media platforms including Instagram and TikTok that contained extremist rhetoric. These posts were reposted by conservatives online.
In one video, Delaruelle appears to speak in front of a dry-erase board displaying the message “Kill your local Republican” while pointing at it. She stated: “We’re going to make this the moderate position for the state of Wisconsin… But I need your help, because we have one month do to this, so let’s do it.”
Delaruelle also described a “trans jihad” in another post targeting what she called “the oppressor, the bigots, and the animals that make up MAGA.” In an online video, she said: “For decades, everyone else… we’ve had to be the ones that walk down the streets with anxiety, with fear, but no, no more. We’re gonna do the reverse. We’re gonna make it so that they will be the ones that have to walk down the streets in fear, anxiety, and worry.”
When contacted about the posts, Delaruelle stated: “No, I don’t wish violence, and I post satire of what the right posts. I was too edgy, and it hurt people, and I’m sorry. I just want to be left alone.” Her TikTok account bio claims she “never advocated for anything hurtful.”
Katrina deVille confirmed Delaruelle was removed from her campaign after a brief period as a volunteer because the individual was “deeply troubled” and “actively creating a dangerous situation” around the campaign. DeVille added that Delaruelle was blocked from all campaign social media accounts.
The Republican Party of Brown County condemned the posts, stating: “This kind of violent rhetoric is unacceptable and dangerous… We reject all political violence and threats.”
As of Thursday, Delaruelle still maintains social media posts supporting deVille for Congress.
