Alabama Woman Wore Inflatable Phallic Costume to Protest Trump Administration, Beats All Charges

A 62-year-old grandmother from Fairhope, Alabama wore an inflatable phallic costume to protest against the Trump administration and was found not guilty on all charges in a local court.

Police body-camera footage captured the incident on October 20, 2025, when an officer pushed her to the ground at a No Kings protest after she refused to remove the costume. The officer stated the costume was offensive.

During the trial, Renea Gamble’s defense attorney, David Gespass, argued the arrest violated her constitutional right to free speech and noted the officer never accused her of causing a traffic hazard—a charge she faced.

Fairhope Municipal Judge Haymes Snedeker dismissed all charges against Gamble, ruling that while the officer had probable cause to arrest her, there was insufficient evidence to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

Gamble celebrated outside the courthouse after the ruling, stating: “We have some growing and relearning to do about the rights the citizens of this town have. They happen to be on par with the rest of the nation and as Alabamians, we dare to defend our rights.”

Her attorney indicated Gamble’s civil rights were violated and they may file a lawsuit over the incident.

Prior to her arrest, Gamble held a sign with a message opposing dictators—adding an extra letter to make the message explicit in alignment with her protest theme.
