Donny Deutsch, a liberal commentator on a progressive cable news platform, has accused the Democratic Party of a “socialist takeover” during recent panel discussions about the party’s ability to address challenges while the president faces criticism over Iran policy and high inflation.
Deutsch stated that Republican strategists are “salivating” over Democratic rhetoric and planning to “wallpaper” with it. He said: “Democrats have gone off the rails… What matters to people is affordability. And Democrats right now are focused on two things—anti-Semitism and socialism.”
Host Stephanie Ruhle objected that not all Democrats hold such views, but Deutsch responded: “Not all, but that’s where the energy of the party is, when you look at the two candidates that got elected in the last week.” He added that one candidate “talks about that there was not — that firebombing in Colorado was not anti-Semitic. I mean, would not acknowledge that, when it was a firebombing of people holding a vigil for hostages by Hamas.”
