An Idaho coffee shop has locked down its social media accounts following backlash over asking a pro-life group to leave its premises, according to an edited video posted by Kristan Hawkins, CEO of the Pro-Life Generation.
The incident occurred at Wydaho Roasters Coffee House in Driggs, where owner Jim Sheehan confronted the group during their meeting. In the video, Sheehan stated: “I don’t want this group meeting here.” When a woman protested it was their first gathering, he responded: “I don’t care! Go to the public library! This is my place of business.”
Sheehan later compared pro-lifers to the Ku Klux Klan in the video, saying: “It’s like if the KKK asked to meet here, I would say no.” When pressed on the comparison, he added: “In my world, it’s the same sort of concept.”
Hawkins noted that Wydaho Roasters had previously hosted a democratic socialist politician and held vigils for slain anti-ICE activists Renée Good and Alex Pretti. Sheehan claimed in an emailed statement that the group was not kicked out but asked to find another location due to their agenda, which they ignored. He also stated the video was “selectively edited” to misrepresent their interaction, emphasizing he did not expel anyone but requested a different venue for their meeting.
