A massive fire at a Southern California warehouse on Tuesday completely destroyed a 1.2 million-square-foot facility and caused over half a billion dollars in damages, according to Bill Essayli, the first assistant United States attorney for the Central District of California.
“We will not tolerate political activists who resort to violence to advance their ideology,” Essayli stated.
Video later surfaced showing the alleged arsonist lighting fires inside the warehouse while mocking the company for not paying workers enough. In the video, the man recorded himself saying: “If you’re not going to pay us enough to fking live or afford to live, at least pay us enough not to do this st.”
The conflagration was allegedly sparked by a man who compared himself to Luigi Mangione, the man accused of executing a health care CEO.
