The White House has released detailed renderings of a planned monument to be constructed in Washington, D.C., as part of the 250th anniversary celebration of the Declaration of Independence. The structure, described by officials as a 166-foot-tall arch, will sit at the Memorial Circle location according to images filed by the U.S. Interior Department to the Commission of Fine Arts on Friday.
White House spokesperson Davis Ingle characterized the design as “one of the most iconic landmarks not only in Washington, D.C., but throughout the world,” emphasizing its significance for future generations. The arch is projected to enhance the visitor experience at Arlington National Cemetery and serve as a visual reminder of the sacrifices made by American heroes over 250 years of history, enabling present-day freedoms. Ingle reiterated that President Trump will “continue to honor our veterans and give the greatest Nation on earth — America — the glory it deserves.”
