Police reported that cellphone video captured an employee shouting at three women before gunfire erupted inside a West Palm Beach Taco Bell on Monday morning. The incident occurred at the restaurant located at Military Trail and 45th Street.
According to police, the three female customers requested water from the soda fountain earlier this week, with one filling it herself. This led to a verbal argument with D’Mari Jy’Quan Patterson, a 20-year-old employee who was reportedly involved in the altercation.
The video footage showed Patterson yelling as tensions escalated. Officers stated that the sound of a gun being racked could be heard on the recording just prior to a shot ringing out in the dining area.
A police official commented: “It doesn’t surprise me that it would happen. The world we live in today, it makes sense.”
