Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo has been arrested in Wisconsin after failing field sobriety tests, authorities reported.
Romo was driving southbound on Interstate 43 Thursday when he was stopped at approximately 6 p.m., according to an arrest report. The former NFL star was taken into custody and booked on a charge of operating while intoxicated before being released later that day.
A first-time offense of operating while intoxicated in Wisconsin is typically a civil matter with fines ranging from $150 to $300, authorities stated.
Romo, born in Burlington and a graduate of Burlington High School, attended the dedication of “Tony Romo Field” at his alma mater in 2020. He is married and has three children.
