President Donald Trump announced Monday that a military operation against Iran had reached completion after just 10 days, stating it was “very complete.”
In an interview with reporter Weijia Jiang, Trump remarked: “They’ve shot everything they have to shoot, and they better not try anything cute.” He added that Iran “has no navy, no communications” and “no air force,” and that the conflict had advanced far beyond its initial estimate of four to five weeks.
Trump also warned Iran over threats to close the Strait of Hormuz—a move that caused oil prices to spike. The president indicated he was considering “taking it over” and stated: “They’ve shot everything they have to shoot, and they better not try anything cute or it’s going to be the end of that country.”
Following his remarks, stock markets recovered losses while oil prices dropped.
A Russian official separately reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin had discussed proposals to end the Iran conflict with Trump during a phone call.
