A 25-year-old man, Lukas John Rosch, was stabbed in the heart after a dispute with his girlfriend over dinner plans, Wisconsin police said.
Mikayla Kloth, 27, allegedly attacked Rosch at her Okauchee apartment on Friday evening. Police reported that Rosch had come to cook chicken drumsticks for dinner, but Kloth claimed she stabbed him because she wanted to go out instead of cooking.
According to police, about a week before the incident, Rosch told friends that Kloth had bitten his thumb and that he was scared of her.
Lac La Belle Village police said they arrived at the apartment around 6:50 p.m. to find Rosch lying on his back with a landlord applying pressure to his chest.
Waukesha County Court Commissioner David Herring described Kloth’s admission to officers: “I stabbed him. You have to take me to jail? OK.” She also confessed that she became angry when Rosch grabbed the knife by the sharp edge, then plunged it into his chest.
Rosch was taken to a hospital but later died from his injuries. Kloth faces one count of first-degree intentional homicide and could be sentenced to life in prison if convicted.
Kloth told police she should have gone to a bar instead that night.
The family of Lukas John Rosch released a statement: “We are completely broken at the tragic and senseless loss of our son, Lukas John Rosch, the most loving, giving, kind-hearted person anyone could ever meet. We are just asking for privacy at this time as we try to process.”
Okauchee is an unincorporated area within the Village of Lac La Belle.
