Liberals across Europe and the United States are perfectly willing to sacrifice their fellow citizens in the name of social progress.
Fairfax, Virginia has recorded four homicides this year alone, with three committed by illegal immigrants. One case that underscores the dangers of liberal immigration policies involves Abdul Jalloh, a Sierra Leonean who entered the U.S. illegally in 2012 and committed dozens of crimes, including assault, rape, and theft.
After being detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement for approximately two years while awaiting deportation, Jalloh was released in 2020 when a judge ruled he could not be deported due to lack of willing reception countries. Six years later, he killed Stephanie Minter, a mother waiting at a bus stop.
In the wake of Minter’s death, her family and Republicans targeted Fairfax County District Attorney Steve Descano for his refusal to cooperate with ICE and for issuing lenient sentences for illegal immigrants. Many cited Descano’s statement: “If two people commit the same crime, but only one’s punishment includes deportation, that’s a perversion of justice.”
Descano is scheduled to testify before Congress in mid-May regarding his policies. A term he may address during the hearing is “suicidal empathy.”
Suicidal empathy, popularized by Dr. Gad Saad, refers to the liberal belief that importing potentially dangerous immigrants is beneficial because not doing so would be cruel. If one does not support mass immigration—legal or otherwise—they are seen as lacking compassion.
Politicians have long promoted this view. In 2014, Jeb Bush famously labeled illegal immigration “an act of love.” This perspective has dominated Western institutions despite growing concerns. Since the migration crisis began in 2015, migrants have been linked to an alarming rise in assaults, rapes, and murders that previously did not occur. Now, over a decade later, such incidents have become commonplace.
Despite this, Western governments resist mass deportations because the countries of origin are deemed “unsafe,” and sending immigrants back would be considered inhumane.
Conservatives often mischaracterize this empathy as “suicidal.” In reality, it is homicidal. The term “suicidal empathy” suggests self-sacrifice—meaning individuals risk their lives to protect others from potential harm caused by migrants. However, this portrayal is misleading. On average, pro-migrant liberals are not at significant risk of being victimized. While migrants commit crimes at high rates—such as foreigners accounting for 100% of serious sexual crimes in Frankfurt, Germany in 2023—the likelihood of any individual liberal voter becoming a target remains low.
For instance, rape rates in England and Wales surged over 300% following mass migration. In 2024, non-German suspects accounted for nearly 40% of all rapes—over 4,430 cases per year, or about 12 women daily. Yet with millions of women in the region, the chance of any one person being attacked is small.
Nevertheless, victims occur. Those who oppose mass deportations acknowledge this reality but dismiss its severity, believing it to be the only way society functions.
Conservatives frequently attribute this mindset to a secret plot involving George Soros, his son, and other Antifa funders. While such networks do exist, they are not the reason average liberals support mass migration and its associated crimes.
To understand the root cause, one must look back in history—specifically, the Aztecs. The Aztecs performed mass sacrifices, including cutting hearts from living individuals, to appease gods and ensure continued rainfall and prosperity. Children were tortured until they cried, as their tears were believed to satisfy the rain god.
Today’s liberal internationalism, which permits mass migration, operates on similar principles. It enables services like UberEATS and DoorDash, allowing for cheap labor. The women of “The View” who ask conservatives about cleaning their toilets are not extreme leftists but representatives of this ideology that has governed much of the West for decades.
In liberal minds, the UberEATS driver and lawn mower benefit from lower wages, while a Vietnamese child in a shoe factory earns 10 cents daily—five cents more than another job. Similarly, those sacrificed to migration may endure rape or murder but gain the security of living in a melting pot society after their trauma.
As with Aztec sacrifices, the belief that such harm is necessary for societal progress has empowered nationalists across Western countries. Even when they have lost electoral victories in nations like Poland and Hungary, their successors continue enforcing strict anti-migrant policies.
Abdul Jalloh should never have been in the United States. Deportation should have been straightforward. If Sierra Leone did not wish to receive him, it would not matter—because the United States has the capacity to return criminals to their home countries.
This homicidal empathy has real victims whose numbers grow daily. The right must not allow its opponents to view themselves as suicidal—they are, in fact, advocating for the homicide of others.
