A video posted by former Mayor Eric Adams shows dozens of bystanders recording footage while a 15-year-old boy was beaten and then fatally shot at a New York City playground last week.
The victim’s older sister stated, “Everyone there recording did nothing.”
In the video, at least three individuals repeatedly punched and kicked the victim, Jaden Pierre, as he tried to protect himself. One attacker grabbed Pierre’s hoodie and threw him to the ground. After Pierre got back up, another attacker pulled a gun and pistol-whipped him before gunfire rang out.
Pierre suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and collapsed on the ground. The crowd then ran away.
The victim’s sister described the scene: “They treated it all as entertainment. He was already beat up. He was helpless, and they shot him.”
