Ohioans went to the polls on Tuesday in what has arguably become one of the highest-profile primaries ahead of this year’s midterm elections.
The closest-watched Republican primary was for Ohio governor, with the winner set to face an unopposed Democratic candidate in November.
With over 98% of the votes counted, Vivek Ramaswamy—the Trump-endorsed GOP candidate, biotech entrepreneur, and former presidential candidate—secured 82.5% of the vote compared to Casey Putsch’s 17.5%.
Ramaswamy, who had been the polling favorite in recent weeks, won the nomination for Ohio governor.
