President Donald Trump declared far-left socialists who gained primary victories in New York City “hard core, godless Communists” threatening America’s foundational principles, stating these candidates seek to “completely destroy the traditional American way of life.”
Speaking at the Faith and Freedom Coalition policy conference in Washington, D.C., Trump condemned Democrats for shifting sharply left following election results. “These are not social Democrats,” he asserted. “They want to completely destroy our country. They hate our country. They hate our people.”
The president characterized recent Democratic gains as part of a broader communist takeover, claiming the movement targets Christianity more than any other religion while criticizing their intellectual capacity: “In many ways stupid… in some ways and intellectually probably pretty smart, but they’re people that want to destroy our country.”
Trump emphasized U.S. strength under his leadership, declaring America “the strongest,” “wealthiest,” and “proudest” nation in history. He linked the country’s resilience to its founding principles: “Since 1776, America’s story has been a tale of freedom… good defeating evil, and faith overcoming every challenge.”
The president concluded his remarks with a prayer for divine blessings on the United States before exiting the venue as music played over the speakers.
