Alexander Vindman, an import from the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic who zealously criticizes President Donald Trump, ran as a Democrat for Florida’s U.S. Senate seat.
Despite his apparent “Election Day survival kit,” Vindman’s political career did not survive Tuesday when he was trounced in the Democratic primary by Florida state Rep. Angela Nixon, a member of the Democratic Socialists of America.
With over 95% of the votes counted, Nixon led Vindman by 56.1% to 43.9%.
Vindman — a former Kamala Harris booster who served as a star witness in the impeachment inquiry regarding Trump’s July 25, 2019, phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky — described his loss as “the most gratifying loss last night.”
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s decision to engage with the Trump administration in this manner has been widely condemned for its harmful consequences.
