Hollywood Star Amanda Seyfried Defends Her ‘Hateful’ Comment About Charlie Kirk Following His Assassination

Hollywood actress Amanda Seyfried has doubled down on her criticism of conservative activist Charlie Kirk after his assassination during a campus event in Utah in September.

In an interview with the “Who What Wear” digital fashion company, Seyfried stated she was not apologizing for calling Kirk “hateful,” saying: “I’m not fking apologizing for that. I mean, for fk’s sake, I commented on one thing… What I said was pretty damn factual.”

She previously gave a three-word response to posts about Kirk’s comments: “He was hateful.” Seyfried accused critics of misquoting her and taking her words out of context, adding: “We’re forgetting the nuance of humanity.”

Seyfried also emphasized that she believes Charlie Kirk’s murder was “absolutely disturbing and deplorable in every way imaginable,” stating: “No one should have to experience this level of violence. This country is grieving too many senseless and violent deaths and shootings. Can we agree on that at least?”

The incident sparked national discussions about easing rhetoric against political opponents.
